As a participant in the symposium, you’ll have the opportunity to obtain graduate credit while refining and enhancing your conducting techniques with two skilled and experienced clinicians during a 5-day intensive workshop offering hands on practice with Oregon’s own 234th Army Band.

Who Should Attend the Oregon Conductors' Symposium?
The workshops are open to all music educators and university students interested in improving their conducting skills. The format includes formal conducting sessions with a live ensemble, open forum discussions and master classes. Our host ensemble will be the 234th Army Band (Oregon's own).
This event will provide you with new ideas and skills to enhance your conducting and music teaching.
Topics include:

   • Exploring effective repertoire
   • Getting the most from your school musicians
   • Raising the musicality of your group
   • Effective rehearsal techniques
   • Artistic communication

Schedule:
9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m
  • Conducting Sessions with Ensemble
12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Lunch
2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Skill Enhancement Sessions (Masterclasses with clinicians)
4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
  • Wrap-up, Questions, and Evaluation

Participant: $550
Observer: $250
